Kre8tor’s May Blog Hop Techniques

Welcome to this months Kre8tors Blog Hop, our theme is Techniques.  Please hop along with the rest of the Kre8tor’s team theres some beautiful projects.

The theme of techniques includes fancy folds, I’m making a Twist & Fold Card with an added bonus of a Stamparatus inking technique.

An old favourite set, Sea of Textures,  was pulled out for this card, I only have a small amount of the DSP left so now was a good time to use it.  Once I made my card I loved the Twist & Fold style so much I made a Fathers Day card and a Birthday card.

The Twist & Fold is perfect for adding a Gift Card/Cash in as there’s little pockets at the front and inside, I choose to cover my front pocket on both my cards.  I found this fold on YouTube (Kelly Gettlefinger), there’s lots out there,  I watched a card made in inches and adapted to cm.

I used my Stamparatus to stamp my octopus, as you can stamp in the same position as many times as you wish it’s perfect for this technique.  I started with my lightest colour then slowly built up the colours to add depth to my octopus.  When I was happy with the result I cleaned the stamp (without removing from Stamparatus) then inked with Versamark ink and sprinkled Clear Embossing powder on my octopus to give them a wet look.

I put together the Father’s Day Card in much the same way using Geared Up Garage.

And then the Birthday Card

I have made a video on the fold and how I stamped my octopus, I’m sure there’s a name for this technique but sadly I am not aware of it!  I’ve tried to explain how I cut the DSP for this card, I think it’s a great idea to make a template as getting your DSP the incorrect way can lead to heartache!
