Card using Die Cuts Nautical

It’s been a sunny but very windy day here today, I have been opening and shutting my studio door, I get too warm but then it’s so windy that my paper blows off my desk! A happy medium would be great.

I’m using die cuts to make a card today, I started by sticking some adhesive backed sheets to a piece of Whisper White then cutting my chosen dies lots of times.  This makes sticking them down quicker and less messy!

O

The Come Sail Away DSP is so beautiful I have nearly used it all already.  It worked so well with my White die cuts.

The base of my card Coastal Cabana and my Poppy Parade sentiment made the perfect combo.  The sentiment is from Seaside Notions, I love this Happy Birthday sentiment and can see it’s going to be my go to stamp.  I used Versamark ink and White Embossing powder for my sentiment.

I was waiting for a delivery of Whisper White, my favourite white card stock, when making my video so I didn't show you the inside of my card, so here it is!

Favourite Colour Combo - Cardz 4 Galz

I am so excited to tell you that I've been accepted as a Design Team member with Cardz 4 Galz card challenge.  When I started making cards I used to pour over card challenges wanting to join in but scared I wasn't good enough, how envious I was of Design Team members, and now four years later it's me!
Please have a go at entering this challenge, all levels of cards are welcomed and enjoyed, don't be shy!

So my first challenge theme is Favourite Colour Combo, now that is a challenge as my favourite colours are blues & greens, what we would think of as men's colours, trust me to start with a tricky one.

I was very excited to recently receive a new stamp set Seaside Notions, this is the first inking up and I’m sure to be using this one again and again.  I live on an island so love sea themed stamps.

You could easily add a sentiment to the front if this card, but on this occasion I think it just doesn’t need one.

I have also made a video just in case you want to see how I made this card.  Please have a go and add your card to the challenge, we love to see them all.

Let’s Get Hopping Round 21 One sketch two cards

This months hop is One Sketch Two Cards.  I don’t normally work from a sketch and this took me a little while to get used to.  I started with the Sailing Away suite for my first card, this took me a few hours to work out! I know hours, I had to leave it over night and look at with fresh eyes the next day.

My second card was much quicker and my favourite of the two, I was obviously getting into the swing of the challenge.

The sketch was found on Pinterest  Designed by Teresa Collins

With my Sailing Home Card I followed the sketch quite closely, using bunting at the top, using stitched layers but I had a more loose interpretation on my Free as a Bird Card.

I worked in 5 x 7” for both of my cards, I have been clearing out my craft room and have found lots of envelopes in my stash so I’m trying to make cards to fit them.

I did lots of the work before I put my cards together, cutting my choice of layers, Stamping and die cutting, lots of fussy cutting for Free as a Bird Card.  I made a video but due to a rotten cold brought home by my hubby I’ve tried to keep talking to a minimum.  I will play some music while putting layers together.

I’ve used Whisper White for inside my card, a quick stamp in Night of Navy and Calypso Coral to make inside pretty.
