Squash Book

I thought I would try a squash Book, never made one before so was up for a challenge.  There are loads of videos out there

on how to make them, one more now as I’ve added mine also 🤣

This was an enjoyable project to make and I think will be a great alternative to a Birthday/ greeting card, especially good for that quirky friend.

I started with three squares of 6 x 6 inch Coastal Cabana paper.  You need to score at three inches to form a cross then diagonally through the middle.  The squares then need to be stuck together like this.  My photo an example showing made with  Calypso Coral.

I used the great new suite It Starts with Art for my Squash Book, the stamps dies and Designer Series Paper.  The colours used in this DSP are delicious.

I die cut my DSP squares using the Layering Squares dies.

Added a few sequins at the mention of sparkle.

Card Making Masking & Ink Blending

Hello Tuesday,

It is boiling hot here today and my studio is too hot to work in after lunch so I managed to just film this video before it became unbearable.

I'm using up a stash of envelopes I found when tidying my craft room. So with this in mind I've made some thank you cards.  When ever I receive an order or customer I always give a thank you card handmade by myself, I don't write in the card so it can be used again.  Even small orders receive a card, orders over £35 also receive a small gift from me.

I’m using two very different stamp sets today but the same technique.  I’m masking my images and then inking around them.  This looks stunning.

I started by stamping my images onto Masking Sheet using Stazon Ink.  I fussy cut the images and put to one side.

The next step is to stamp the same image onto Whisper White paper and then place your mask over.  Then using a brush I blended my ink over and around the image.

This technique is a great way to use a stamp you would normally colour.  No colouring required but the stamped image pops from the card.  Change up the ink and paper colours for endless possibilities.

Milk Carton Style Gift Box

Totally having a low mojo week! Has made me very slow on the creating, normally heaps of ideas buzzing round my head but they seem to of all buzzed off at the moment.

I have wanted to make a Milk Carton Gift Box for a while and came up with this one.  Measurements in inches today.  I work in both Metric and Imperial due to being at school in the change over.  I’m still an inches and yards girl really.

Made with one sheet of Coastal Cabana A4 Card stock, cut down long side to 10 1/2”
