Driving Home for Christmas

Driving Home for Christmas

I’ve combined 2 sets for this bright, cheerful Christmas card.

Coming Home and the Curvy Dies for the snow, my colour combo was Granny Apple Green card base and trees & Cherry Cobbler car. The beautiful Designer Series Paper is the new 6” x 6” from the Curvy series. I’m using the Shaded Spruce.

I’ve made a short video on YouTube making this card.

Stampin Up! Birds & Branches Anniversary

An Anniversary card today, using the lovely Birds & Branches, I’ve used the Dies and stamps for this pretty card.

You can easily change to a Birthday Card by replacing the heart with a sentiment.  I would try bright colour birds also.

Misty Moonlight, Flirty Flamingo & Balmy Blue are the colours used for this card.  The Designer Series Paper is from  In Good Taste.

Stampin Up! Coming Home Die Cut Card

Today’s card has a simple front with a surprise inside, by die cutting the car or house on the front of the card, the image appears to be on the front but when you open the card it’s actually stuck on the inside of your card.  I saw this done years ago, sadly cannot remember where, and made a similar card two or three years ago but was inspired to have another go at this great technique again.

My top card is made with the Designer Series Paper that co-ordinates with the dies from this set.

I've used a couple of different Christmas stamp sets for the sentiments.  The Coming Home suite is available to buy from 4th August 2020

Stampin Up! Pop up book card

Another Christmas card using Coming Home, not as simple as the last one,  but still pretty.

You can use the Designer Series Paper to add your sentiment.
I’ve used lots of the Designer Series Paper this time, my houses and trees are die cut from a sheet of the paper as the dies match the paper, clever.

Here’s the pop up!

I’ve made a video to show how I made this card.

Stampin’ Up! Coming Home Christmas in July

I could not wait to make cards using this beautiful stamp & die set ‘Coming Home’ here are four Clean & Simple 4” x 4” or 10cm x 10cm cards easy to make and ready to put away until Christmas.
As card makers it’s always a good idea to start your cards early so your not rushing in November to finish.

I’ve added some ‘snow’ embellishments on this one as I felt the gap needed filling!

I’ve used blender pens to do basic colouring on my images.

As there are no sentiments on the Coming Home stamp set I’ve used some from another couple of stamp sets I have.  You can use whatever you have available and it will give the card a different feel.

Both the above sets are popular sets from last year that available again this year.

Stampin’ Up! Whale Done Card

I’ve had my eye on the Whale Done bundle since my pre-order but only just ordered it, I’m so pleased I did as it’s a lovely stamp set & punch.

This card also includes a stamp from Textured Essentials for the background.  I’ve used Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Night of Navy in this card.

After stamping my whale I added a mixture of clear embossing powder and glitter for a pretty glittery effect.
The dies used in the background are from Smooth Sailing and Stitched Rectangle

Stampin Up! Coming Home

The Coming Home bundle is my favourite in the new Winter Mini Catalogue, love the paper, the stamp and dies.  As it’s not Christmas yet I’ve made a Moving Home card.  Trying to demonstrate how a Christmas stamp set can be used for non Christmas projecs.

What’s great about these stamps is the houses have no snow, lights etc so can be used for different occasions.

I do not have a New Home stamp so I’m hoping the card design does the work for me.
I’ve stamped and die cut lots of the houses then decided my arrangement before sticking.  The coloured house is popped up as is the car.

I’m itching to make a Christmas project now, well it is Christmas in July!

Stampin Up! one Sketch Two Cards

I’m going through a craft block at the moment, we are trying to move house and it’s very stressful, it’s taking up a lot of my energy.

I found this sketch on Pinterest and thought I would give it a go in the hope of inspiration!

A lovely bright card, using the Flowers for Every Season DSP and In Good Taste DSP
Once cut this card goes together very quickly.

Inch Measurements
10” x 5” Thick Whisper White card stock, score at 5” for card base

3rd Layer 3” x 5”
4th/Top Layer 4 1/2” x 2 1/2”

My next card used Seaside Notions and I stamped my seahorse on watercolour paper with Black Stazon Ink.

I used a water brush to add water to my seahorse then drop some ink in.  See my Youtube to watch how I did this.

To add a bow or not?

I went with a bow.

I made my seahorse card in cm

25 cm x 18 cm Score at 12.5 cm card base
1st Layer 12.5 cm x 18cm

Stampin’ Up! Dressed to Impress

I made this pretty card today for a lady who requested a catalogue.  Hopefully she will be coming to one of my classes, when we are up and running again.  It feels a long time since I got myself ready for a class!

I used the Dressed to Impress stamp set and Dies, also added the leaf dies from Birds and  More Dies.

Using the blends for a stripy background is a quick effect way to make a striking addition to your card.
Watch my video for an easy tip for keeping your lines straight but still loose.
