Decorating Envelopes and Faux Stamps

I do like to add a handmade stamp to an envelope sometimes, but today I am going just a little bit further.

Recently seen a couple of Pinterest (spend way to much time here!) pictures of crafters making faux stamps this sparked my interest and I started thinking about my Christmas Cards and how great they would look with an antique looking envelope.

I’ve gone about my faux stamp making in a few ways, my bases have been either die cut with a scalloped edge Square Layering Die, or cut with Pinking Shears.  I have used Crumb Cake or Very Vanilla and inked the edges in Crumb Cake.  I’ve then cut some pages from an old book, or old music sheet to fit inside my bases. If you can’t find old pages just age them with ink.

Very Vanilla seemed like the perfect colour for these vintage feel envelopes, I used Crumb Cake ink all over to give a nice aged feel.  To finish my envelopes I made liners for inside!

I wanted my envelopes to look like they had been though the post already, I searched my collection on current Stampin’ Up! Stamps and found two that I thought could work.

Here’s the video!

Let's Get Hopping - Casing the Catalogue

Today on Let's Get Hopping Blog Hop we are casing the catalogue, we have two Catalogue's at the moment and can choose from either.

I’m casing a card on page 9 from the Autumn/Winter Catalogue.

I am using the Most Wonderful Time Product Medley Set, this is a quick and easy card, nearly all sticking!  Great for when you have loads of Christmas Cards to make.

I have made a video!

Stamp 'N Hop September Stamp Set or DSP

Welcome to this months Stamp 'N Hop Blog Hop, this month our theme is Designer Series Paper or a Stamp Set.

You have just hopped from the wonderful Susan Simpson and you are now with me Linda Handford from the UK, thanks for hopping by!

As the Autumn/Winter catalogue released earlier this month I am going to be using Christmas Paper and a Stamp Set, I have more than one favourite DSP this is one of them!  I’m making a Box of Christmas Cards, four Z-Fold cards and a box to keep them in or gift them!

All my Z-Fold cards are 4” x 4”

I’ve added some Gold Foil and some Gold Embossing.

My envelopes were very white so I gave them a vintage feel.  I have a YouTube video coming out on Thursday 19th September showing how I give envelopes a vintage feel, liners and some faux stamps!

My box is a quick & Simple make.

Please check out my video below.
