This Monday I received my order from the Stampin Up Annual Catalogue. Very exciting, I managed to restrain myself and only brought three stamp sets. I wanted to share this card as its so simple and really pretty.
I started by cutting some card stock to fit the front of a normal sized card, using Marina Mist and Pool Party card stock. I stamped the mermaid and the sentiment in black archival ink. So far very simple! I then coloured the mermaids tail using my Stampin Up markers, I used pinks for one and blues and greens for the other. Still easy peasy. When ink is dry go over the whole tail with a Versamarker, like a ink pad but in a pen version. I then covered the versamarked tail in bonding powder. When the bonding powder is heated with your heat gun it gets sticky enough for you to sprinke your Dazzling Diamond glitter all over tail. Tap the glitter off and again zap with your heat gun. Your sprarkly, glittery, simple card only needs sticking to a card base. Great card for young and older girls.
I have also made a Youtube video for this card, it should be on in a couple of days. Just type in Linda Handford, there are a few other videos already there to watch.
Hope you enjoy making this card.

60th Birthday Card and Wine Bottle Tag
My husbands boss turns 60 today, husband asked me to make him a card and actually gave me a few days notice, normally I get a day's notice!
I used the sadly retired set Here's to cheers die and stamp set. The numbers were cut using the Large Numbers Framelits, and the squares were cut with the Stitched Shapes framelits, which are both available in the new catalogue. Hope you like it.

SU Only Challenges
I have not entered this challenge before but like looking to get some inspiration.
http://suochallenges.com/
I brought the new stamp set Pieces and Patterns as part of my Demonstator pre-order, and really love this set. I thought the retro camera image would work well for a masculine background.
I started with a crumb cake base and stamped in black ink all over, turning the paper as I went to make a random pattern. I then cut a Basic Black stitched square and a smaller Whisper White stitched square. I stamped the camera again on the white square and then coloured in with my Stampin Write Markers. I popped the white card up with dimensionals and stuck to the black square which I then glued to the base. I used Basic Black as the card base. Hope you like!
All products used on my card are Stampin Up, if you wish to purchase any please click on my Shop above. Stamp set not available until June 1st.

The Paper Players
Yesterday I made two cards for two different challenges. I am nearly back to normal after hurting my back so can get back to crafting more often again!
The Paper Players challenge is a CAS butterfly card. This card came together in record time.

I have used the new (available to buy from 1st June) DSP paper Colour Theory Designer Paper Stack, comes in 6x6" 48 sheets. Its a really lovely paper stack. The butterfly was cut from Basic Black card stock with the Butterflies Thinlits. I added a strip of gold glitter paper and some glitter enamel dots. The sentiment came from a new stamp set called Happy Birthday Gorgeous. I decided to use black card stock as the base to make the yellow background pop.

Pieces and Patterns
I've opened my new DSP Pick a Pattern and love it, this normally means I don't use it, hoard my favourite patterns for best. Not going to do this anymore, I will use all my favourites and then just order more, simple. This new DSP is available from 1st June in the brand new catalogue, not long to wait now.
I was inspired by Case this Sketch for this card
http://casethissketch.blogspot.co.uk/

Love the mushroom paper, all you need to do is cut a layer of paper and your card is nearly finished! I've used the Pieces and Patterns stamp set to add crushed curry to a piece of white card stock, added some whisper white thick bakers twine and the great Hello There stamp also from Pieces and Patterns stamp set.
Hope you like it.

Pieces and Patterns
So as a demonstrator you get to pre-order from the new catalogue. I fell for this stamp set and DSP so was really pleased it was on the pre-order list.
I received this week but I've been working on some 80th Birthday invites and wasn't able to play. Husband playing cricket today and in between helping with homework on the plague I made this card.
I received this week but I've been working on some 80th Birthday invites and wasn't able to play. Husband playing cricket today and in between helping with homework on the plague I made this card.
I started by stamping the flower stamp from Pieces and Patterns set over a whisper white piece of paper. I then cut two strips of basic black and used my new Ticket Tear Border punch.
The Designer paper is great from this suite, I cut a piece and glued the black ticket tear to the underside, so it peeked out. The white square was die cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits and Hello There was stamped using Basic Black ink. It needed a little something else so I pulled my Emerald Envy marker out and coloured the flowers of the background. Quick and easy card and all the better as it was just a fun make.
The Ticket Tear stamp, Pieces and Patterns stamp set, and Pick a Pattern DSP will not be available to purchase until June 1st, but markers, paper and Stitched Shape Framelits are available now. If your interested please pop up to my tab and click on Shop, if your spending over £25 use this months Hostess Code.
Thanks

Joined in with What will You Stamp, been looking at this challenge site for a while but this was the first time I had the stamp set used in the challenge! I have been making 80th Birthday invites this week so nearly missed my chance.

This was not a instant grab me stamp set like some are, but I thought my ladies in Card Class would like it so I brought it and have used it quite a lot.
Hope you like it.
