One Sheet Wonder Day 1 Gift Bag

A one sheet wonder is a great thing to make and I’m starting with making our own dsp as well as a small gift shopping bag.

I used Whisper White 12 x 12 sheet, stamped random leaves and flowers all over and then coloured using my blends.  The colouring only took me 20 minutes, your be pleased to know I don’t make you watch me colouring in my video!

While at Onstage I was lucky to get the Free as a Bird Stamp Set.  I love this set and thought it would make a great set for making my own dsp.  I was right!

After colouring my images, I have cut my 12 x 12 sheet in half so I now have two 12 x 6 sheets.  Cut one of these in half again giving us two 6 x 6 sheets.

The bag is made using one 6 x 6 sheet.  This design is everywhere on Pinterest/YouTube, I cased Bibi Cameron’s.

I’ve made a short video where I stamp my paper and make the bag.  If your very observant you will notice my paper changes as I had a nightmare filming this and kept going off camera!

Come back to see Part 2 where we will be using a 6 x 3 piece to make a small triangle gift box.  Sneak Peek below.

All of the above made with the one 12 x 12 sheet with added Old Olive and Whisper White for Stamping.

Flower Pot Gift Card Holder Card

I am loving the Free as a Bird bundle, I get lots of birds in my garden and who doesn’t love their happy singing in the mornings.

I saw a Youtube video  where they made a cactus gift card holder and thought how well this idea would work with this stamp set.

I had to bring in Tropical Chic also as the leaves on the Free as a Bird Stamp Set just were not large enough for my idea to work.  I used Old Olive ink on Old Olive Card stock for my leaves.  I grabbed a picture of a Blue Tit and coloured my bird in as well as I could using my Blender Pens, I then fussy cut him out, the blossom was fussy cut also.

If you don’t have a paper guillotine use a blade and a metal ruler to carefully cut through your layers, scissors could work too.

A combination of Terracotta Tile, Whisper White & Basic Grey Ink was blended and dabbed over the pot base to give a terracotta feel.

I used, For You, as my sentiment but this card could be used for any occasion, if you wanted to use as a card you could do away with the flap on the Old Olive insert and stamp a sentiment or slip some notes into the flap instead of a gift card.  I have an idea for Christmas bouncing around my head, snow, robin & glitter!

Make sure your pot and flowers fit into your envelope, keep checking as you make it.

So I know this is my library card, but just imagine it’s a gift card or a £20 note!

There’s a video explaining how to make the card, bit longer than normal but I try to keep my videos under 15 mins.

Ink Stamp Share May Blog Hop Monochrome

I am hopping with the  Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop today, you maybe hopping from Jo Blackman's post, where you would of seen a great project or you maybe starting here with me.

When this event popped up for this months blog hop, yes I said, ticked the going box, but when I came to make this project I was initially stumped and was coming up with zero ideas!

*Monochrome - a photograph or picture developed or executed in Black & White or in varying tones of one colour.

I’ve made a cute matchbox and matching tea light gift box with a nautical feel.  Once I started I enjoyed putting this together.  I’ve never tried the Chalk board  technique before, not sure why, I love it, looks very effective.

I started small with my matchbox and then moved on to my Tea Light Gift Box.  I would do two things differently if I make this again.  I would use Thick Whisper White Card stock for the base of my box and I punched my circles in the wrong side of my box!  I was obviously not thinking straight at the time!

Two stamp sets were used the new Sailing Home and a retiring set Amazing Life.

My grey tea lights were perfect for this project, I brought these in Primark. They smell lovely pomegranate & fig.

The compass on top of the box spins round as I’ve attached with a brad and some Dimensionals stuck on the base.

There’s two videos one for the Matchbox and the other for the Tea Light Gift Box.  You cannot actually strike a match on my box, although perhaps you could cut the striking side off a matchbox and stick on?

Please hop along with the Ink Stamp Share team.  Sandrine Jse is next just click on the next button to hop along, its so worth it!
