This month the theme is Simple Stamping - I'm going with Birthdays, the idea behind Simple Stamping is from Stampin' Up to help new crafter's or if you're in a hurry to make a simple card with a small amount of products. We are allowed to use one stamp set, inks and DSP for the Birthday challenge.
I'm using the great Pieces of Cake stamp set, Black Memento Ink and the 6 x 6 Designer Series paper.

I'e used the Notecards which come with envelopes.
Pool Party |
Lovely Lipstick |
Highland Heather |
I've used all of my 6 x 6 paper, for covering the front of the notecard, adding the stripe on the card by flipping the DSP over, and using the last piece to decorate the envelope flap. No waste.
Decorated envelopes, I love to decorate an envelope I feel it pulls the card together, especially as this is such a simple design.
This is my first time #Simplestamping and I found it to be quite a tricky challenge, I just want to keep going, so I did keep going after finishing this challenge and I thought you may like to see this design stepped up!
I've added some more DSP, coloured the cake, used a stitched rectangle to cut out my Whisper White layer, added lots of sequins, maybe too many, if that's possible. Finally I made a cute garland down the side of my card, sadly these ribbons are no longer available as so popular Stampin' Up! run out of stock!
I hope you enjoyed my simple stamping and I know I enjoyed taking part in my first blog hop with Let's Get Hopping. Please don't forget to hop along to the next simple stamping project!
I've made a short video below!
I love your set of the card. Cool idea to do the envelope strips. Will watch video later
ReplyDeleteThabks Eva, a tricky challenge.
DeleteSuch a clever idea to use up the whole sheet of 6x6 DSP! Cute cards 😊
ReplyDeleteThanks Alicia a happy accident really, but pleased with the result.
DeleteNever send a naked envelope! I love decorating them as well, beautiful cards!
ReplyDeleteThanks
DeleteI love these Linda. I particularly love that you have utilised the whole sheet of DSP. I have so many skinny strips left over from 6x6 DSP, I'm so going to use that envelope tip in the future
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, I do love the 6x6 dsp
DeleteLove your cards Linda.
