Stamping Around the World June Blog Hop

No photo description available.

Today I’m taking part in the Stampin Around the World Blog Hop .  This blog connects with the monthly PDF tutorial that I take part in.  So every month Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators on the team design a paper craft project for the PDF tutorial then the blog hop project will be designed using the same stamp set, Designer Series Paper etc. You receive the PDF Free with a £46 and above  order or you can purchase the PDF for only   £11

This month I used a beautiful new DSP Mosaic Mood and for this hop I’ve made a lovely gift box.

Box Size  5 1/4 x 4"

Base Blushing Bride
9 3/4" x 8 1/2"  Score all round at 2 1/4"

Lid Garden Green
7 3/4" x 6 1/2"  Score all round at just under 1 1/4"

After making my lid and base I cut my DSP into strips, two of the designs have stripes of mosaic tiling, I thought these would be perfect for the edge of my lid, I choose which colour strip I wanted then made sure the lid of my box would fit!

I had only one sheet of Blushing Bride Card stock left so nervously cut and scored it.  I mulled over if I should decorate the box base but decided as the lid was highly decorated the base would work without any decoration.  I did cut another piece of this beautiful DSP for a decorative bottom inside the box!

Yet another two sheets of Dsp were used to fussy cut the birds and roses.  I wanted the DSP to be on the top of my lid but wanted to mute the colour slightly so my birds and roses would pop.  I decided a sheet of vellum would work well and used the Stitched Rectangle dies to make a frame.  I cut the DSP for my lid carefully as I wanted my fussy cut rose and leaves to match the position when glued on.  The lid would also make a great card front.  Just add a sentiment.

Use your Stitched Rectangle die to decide which area of DSP you want on the top of your lid.
